Local folk favorites Feeding Frenzy performed to a packed Pub Friday night as the dance floor was filled with people celebrating the return of the frenzy.

Feeding Frenzy is made up of vocalist and gutarist Daniel Firmin, vocalist and banjo player Ryan Bateman, vocalist and bassist Rebecca file, cellist Ephy Wheeler and drummer Chad File.

Freeding Frenzy has been inactive for the last couple of months, spending their time writing new songs. They unveiled their new set list on Friday, playing several new and classic songs throughout the night, the dance floor was full of people enjoying their songs.

Feeding Frenzy was also there to celebrate Allie Bateman’s 21st birthday, Ryan Bateman’s younger sister  During the intermission, Feeding Frenzy brought out cake and sang happy birthday to Allie Bateman as the rest of The Pub joined in.

Allie Bateman currently works with the Student Activities Office and helps put on events throughout the school year. With her first night in The Pub, there was definitely a high energy that hasn’t been seen at all year.

Local act Spank Williams, started off the night getting the crowd ready for the show. Williams’ sound was described by Rebecca File as Folk with bits of Regina Spektor.

Freeding Frenzy’s next show will be in Anchorage at The Tap Root on March 8 with no plans to perform in Fairbanks currently.
