Committee Reports
No committee meetings took place.

Election results
Barry-Garland motioned to suspend rules and procedures and move to first reading to provide time for the spring election results to be processed. The motion to move to first reading passed by a unanimous vote.

Matthew Carrick and Celie Hull were successful in their campaign for president and vice president with 179 votes. They ran uncontested.

Reid was reelected to senate with 191 votes. Michael Mancill and Lachlan Gillepsie were voted in to the senate with 183 votes and 184 votes, respectively. All senators ran uncontested.

Root beer floats bill
Poindexter sponsored legislation to provide the Motivated Academic Kinetic Entrepreneurs club $50 for root beer float supplies. The club will be selling root beer floats to students during Spring Fest, April 24-26. The bill was assigned to the student affairs committee.

Poindexter requested the bill be expedited since the event will take place the coming weekend. Strigle suggested that senators utilize their ability to recess to make necessary changes to the bill. Reid moved to recess for ten minutes to make edits. Lida Zakurdaew seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Strauch motioned to discharge SB 181-014 from Student Affairs to second reading and was seconded by Lida Zakurdaew. Eli motioned to close debate and was seconded by Lida Zakurdaew. The amendment passed unanimously..

Strauch motioned to amend the word “provide” to “sell” in the first whereas clause. She was seconded by Lida Zakurdaew. Barry-garland motioned to close discussion and was seconded by Lida Zakurdaew. Discussion was closed unanimously and the amendment was adopted unanimously.

Strauch motioned to strike the word additional from the second whereas claus. Carrick moved to close discussion and seconded by Lida Zakurdaew. Motion passed unanimously.

Strauch motioned amend the third whereas clause to read more clearly. Poindexter moved to close discussion and seconded by Chabotte. Closed unanimously. Motion to amend unanimous.

Strauch motioned to strike the fourth and fifth whereas clauses. Lida Zakurdaew motioned to close and seconded by Chabotte. unanimous. Motion passed unanimously.

Lida Zakurdaew motioned to close discussion on the matter and was seconded by Poindexter. The motion passed 8-0-2.

The bill passed 7-0-2. Poindexter and Reid abstained.
