Minnesota State scored early in the first period on Friday, and it wasn’t until the middle of the second period that Alaska caught up. Despite Alaska out shooting Minnesota 30- 18 throughout the game, they didn’t manage to score again and the game ended with a 1-1 tie.

Partway through the game, Minnesota’s Brett Knowles was knocked out and the game paused for a short amount of time.

Also significant was Alaska’s Josh Erickson getting a one game suspension for illegal head contact with a fellow player. He is eligible to return to the next game on Feb. 27.

The Nanook’s final home game of the season on Saturday night remained tied for most of the first and second periods. It wasn’t until the end of the second period that Montana scored.

The Nanooks quickly matched this, scoring 43 seconds into the third period. Alaska went on to score twice more, bringing them to a 3-1 win against Montana.
