What did you think of the preachers on campus this week?
“It was them awkwardly making their beliefs, and people awkwardly trying to refute them, and them not agreeing on anything. It was a glorious train-wreck.”
“I’m totally okay with free speech and everything, but I thought he was pushing religion onto other people. And he got too much in people’s faces. I know I didn’t want to walk near him. If he would have just toned it back a little bit, it would have been a whole lot better. And he did it for way too long, honestly.”
“That is flat ridiculous. That was not okay with me at all, because it’s fine if you’re religious and that works for you; I’m happy for those people who find solace in that sort of thing. However, the way they went about it was really wrong, in my opinion. They’re yelling about these things, and there are some of us who aren’t religious, and that’s a common space on campus. It shouldn’t have been conducted in the way it was, at all.”
“I don’t necessarily agree with what they were saying or how they were saying it. I do believe that everyone has a right to say something, and I respect that it took some bravery to go out there in front of everybody – especially some of the more irritated students – and say what they wanted to say.”
