January 23– Vandalized apartment
A Residence Life employee reported that one of the apartments on North Chandalar was burglarized. A bed frame, a mattress and a smoke detector were some of the things stolen. It appears the original tenet moved out of the apartment without telling Res Life and let someone else move in. Res Life provided an itemized list of the missing items, and the investigation is on-going.
January 24– Sleeping man
A campus officer found a man sleeping in the bus hut in the Taku parking lot. The man was caught the night before sleeping on campus. The officer woke the man up and banned him from campus for six months.
January 24– Hit and run
A UAF officer noticed that one of the UAFPD trailers had been hit in the station parking lot. After reviewing the security footage, the officers identified the man who had hit the trailer as a facilities worker, who was sanding the parking. The man was contacted and no damage was done to the trailer.
January 29- Horseplay
The Bartlett Resident Director reported to police that an intoxicated man was causing a disturbance in Bartlett Hall. The individual and his roommate had been wrestling in their room. When the roommate decided to go to bed, the individual began to cause a disturbance. A campus officer contacted the individual and transported him to Fairbanks Correctional Center for sleep-off.
