Ever wanted to learn how to kick people in the face?  The UAF Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club is holding a class, and I figure they can probably hook that up for you. Head to the SRC Fitness Studio at 6:45 p.m. and they will teach you how! Probably. That might be a little more advanced. Consider asking an instructor when exactly the face kicking starts. – Spencer Tordoff / Web Editor

It’s Open Mic Night from 7-9 p.m. at Arctic Java. Come from singing, poetry, dancing and God knows what else.  Arctic Java will still be open too, if you just want to swing by for some coffee.  Or you could preform if you like—as the name suggests, it’s open to anyone.  If you can get on the stage, then whatever you want to do can happen.  Just make sure you don’t mic drop at the end of your sick freestyle.  Apparently that’s frowned upon.  – Kyrie Long / Copy Editor

This Saturday the band Sand Castle is playing at McCafferty’s from 8:30-10:30 p.m. Actually, they play there every Friday and Saturday so if you have a good time it’s an easy thing to go do again. They perform contemporary folk, rock, and retro pop. There should also be coffee and stuff if you’re into that. – Molly Putman / Layout Editor
