On March 28, the University of Alaska Fairbanks Residence Life staff hosted a Culture Night event. Students could engage in social activities to learn more about different cultures. Students filled out four different word searches as well as two crossword puzzles.

A display of food choices was offered to students who attended, and a chance to win a prize through raffling. Students could perform spoken word, battle rap, dramatic piece, song, or dance on stage. For those less extroverted, they provided music for students to dance to, providing activities for all types of students.

Near the end of the event, Residence Life provided a game show section with five categories of different types of culture, such as the UAF culture and music cultures. Students who attended the event collectively commented that they attended to get out of their shells, as well as the sheer curiosity of the event.

Residence Life holds events for students throughout the year to encourage social interaction and learning how to care for themselves mentally. Information on similar events from Residence Life can be found on Nanook Engage. https://engage.uaf.edu/events.
