On a cold winter night, with a sliver of moon high above, peeking through wisps of cloud, a small bundle of joy came into our lives. White as the snow beneath our feet, with eyes red like glowing embers, we gave him a name worthy of his spirit: Lil Jit.
Rest in Peace, Lil Jit
At first, he was a timid little mouse, uncertain of his place in this big world. Beyond the cozy walls of his cage, everything seemed vast and strange. But slowly, Jit found his rhythm. He would spend his days spinning on his wheel or gazing out the wide window, perched proudly on a block of cheese as if surveying his very own kingdom.
When we returned home from long days of class, he was always there to greet us. We’d let him roam the nooks and crannies of our house, and he explored fearlessly with the heart of a true adventurer. He was the same with new people, Jit welcomed them all. He was never afraid to make friends, and his tiny presence always left a big impression.
In Lil Jit’s final moments, in the quiet lift of his white coat, in the brightness still flickering in his little eyes, we knew he had found his place. His place was not in the wheel, or the cage, or even on his block of cheese. His place was with us, in our hearts. And that is where he will remain.
Rest easy, Lil Jit. Brave little mouse, friend, and explorer. May your tiny warrior spirit run free in Valhalla.
