Welcome to UAF From Your Student Body President

And just like that, a brand-new year is here at UAF! Whether you’re stepping onto campus for the first time, meeting new friends, finding your way, or you’re returning to UAF, let me be among the first to say, welcome.
I feel incredibly honored (and a little humbled) to begin my term as Student Body President. My goal this year is to learn, collaborate, and do everything I can to support and uplift our students.
This year marks Student Government’s (ASUAF) 103rd anniversary, and we’re proud to represent students from every corner of our university: from traditional undergraduates and transfer students to adult learners, part-time students, technical, vocational, and graduate students, and those across our rural campuses. This year, we’re committed to making sure all voices are heard by continuing to push for better campus accessibility, stronger academic support, better dining experiences, and policies that reflect the real needs of students.
Wherever you belong in our campus community, know that ASUAF Student Government is here for you, to listen, to advocate, and to lead with your best interests at heart.
If YOU want to get involved with Student Government, whether that’s joining a committee, running for Senate, or helping at events, stop by our office in the Wood Center over by Esports. We’re always looking for new voices and fresh ideas! Our Senate meets Wednesday nights weekly at 5:15pm.
Here’s to a meaningful, exciting, and memorable year ahead. Let’s make it a great one.
Sincerely,
Jackson Nelson | ASUAF Student Government President
